Summary
The Associate Director of Admissions assists the Director of Enrollment Management in all areas related to admission, marketing, and student recruitment. International and domestic travel may be required.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities*
Assists in the enrollment process from inquiry to enrollment.
Interviews and directs prospects as they proceed form inquiry to enrolled.
Actively communicates with prospects and referral sources.
Represents the School both on campus and off in his or her role as an Admission Officer.
Responsible for all prospects (inquiry to enrolled) from assigned markets.
Actively participates in the Trusted Partner program by visiting and actively communicating with recruitment partners.
Conducts tours and open houses on the Upper and / or Lower School Campus.
Travels to recruit students internationally and domestically.
Other duties as assigned by the Director of Enrollment Management.
Qualifications

SUMMARY
The Upper Kitchen Supervisor understands and fully participates in the Ross School Café’s concept of a healthy team environment, prioritizing communication with supervisors and co-workers to meet production standards and service excellence in all facets of food service to the Ross School community.
The Upper School Kitchen Supervisor oversees the workday of line chefs, chef assistants, and potroom workers while working directly with the Dining Room Supervisor and servers on the Upper Level of Ross Café.
Coordinating production needs with the Lower-Level Production Supervisor is key to maintaining
food quality and ensuring the proper quantities to fulfill each meal service requirement.
Major Areas of Accountability and other duties may be assigned.
STAFFING RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervises Upper-Level Kitchen and communicates all issues of concern to the Executive Chef.
Radiates professional objectives and attitudes to inspire employees to work efficiently and professionally.
Participates in the ongoing training of kitchen staff and ensures that all staff members are trained appropriately for their level of responsibility before assigning them to a specified task.
Ensures that all job duties are completed before an employee leaves and that all work areas are cleaned and sanitized.
Assists in overseeing staff to ensure timeliness and correct adherence to uniform and attendance protocols.
Possesses the ability to assist or redirect any Upper-Level kitchen or dining room worker without fellow team members.
Ul works on special events as needed and should be proficient in event/catering preparations, elevated presentations, timing, and related production.
FOOD AND LABOR PRODUCTION RESPONSIBILITIES
Assists in the production and development of daily menus, working with the Production Supervisor and Executive Chef.
Helped maintain budgeted food, striving for maximum yields from raw and cooked products and accurately estimated daily quantities of prepared food with little waste.
Ensures that all food is produced and served following Ross Café’s specific recipes, quality, and presentation standards.
Updates recipe content and quantity information regularly and alerts the Executive Chef of necessary digital updates.
Helps to oversee the production of any supplemental food items not anticipated by scheduled service and assures that Upper-Level food service workers prepare food on time with rare delays or gaps in service.
Oversees the freshness and safety of all prepared items by heating, reheating, and holding foods to proper temperatures, rotating of food items, and properly storing food items.
Adheres to proper chilling and thawing practices and enforces proper thawing with the entire kitchen staff while recording time/temperatures of items that are cooling outside of refrigeration.
Is well versed in Food Safety and Sanitation Best Practices as required by Suffolk County Board of Health and takes part in daily adherence to such codes.
SPECIFIC DAILY RESPONSIBILITIES
Opens Ross Café and oversees production of 7:00 AM breakfast service.
Records data on daily breakfast and oversees breakfast restocking for the next day.
Oversees Lower School lunch production/pack out and Upper School lunch service, specifically the hotline side.
Prepares food for future menus, including restocking freezer items such as tomato sauce, chicken, and vegetable stocks.
Is attentive to school schedules, events, and school-wide mandates via verbal and digital information.
UPPER LEVEL EQUIPMENT RESPONSIBILITIES
Communicate with the Executive Chef about the maintenance requirements of all Cafe equipment, furnishings, and fixtures. Submits proper service requests to Facilities when necessary.
Oversees handling all equipment carefully and safely and performs job duties to minimize the probability of accidents. Understands, complies with, enforces, and practices proper lifting procedures.
Review school schedules, activities, and events, and be aware of, attend, and report on all school-wide staff meetings.
QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
8 year’s experience in a professional, volume kitchen environment required.
Culinary Arts education preferred.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Applicants should be able to perform all tasks required in a professional kitchen environment, including lifting up to 50 lbs.
Applicants should be able to stand on his/her feet for at least eight hours per day, excluding breaks.
LANGUAGE SKILLS AND REASONING ABILITY
Ability to comprehend and carry out written and/or oral instructions.
Ability to problem solve. As part of the Ross School Tennis Center (RSTC) and the Ross School faculty, teach and coach adults and children of all skill levels during the school day, after school and during the summer.
Specifically, the duties will include:
Conduct group and individual practice sessions and teach tennis techniques, tactics and mental endurance.

Coordinate player development programs.
Prepare players for tennis competitions.
Follow RSTC Director's training methods and program.

The primary objectives of this position are to build a positive environment within the Ross community for all students and to fulfill the academic coverage needs of the school. This is accomplished by being an open and accessible presence on either the Upper and or Lower campus and at the boarding houses. Teaching Associates and Boarding House Parents are expected to participate fully in the life of the school and to conduct their duties and assignments with the expectation of engaging students and colleagues both in service and in learning. Teaching duties and school day coverage duties will be assigned by the respective Division Head.
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
General Expectations
Express enthusiasm and concern for our house parent-student relationships and student learning and growth.
Work together with other House Parents as a member of a team, offering assistance when needed.
Monitor student movement and behavior using the Orah system.
Attend House Parent meetings as needed, run by the Director of Residential Life.
Read and understand the Boarding Program section of the School Handbook.
Maintain regular contact with students’ parents.
Drive assigned school vehicles when asked.
Report any needed maintenance for either the house or school vehicles in a timely fashion.
Monitor the boarding house you reside in for cleanliness.
Oversee the arrival and departure of students throughout the school year from vacations and ensure that all necessary closing procedures are accomplished.
Provide necessary access to both the houses’ shared and personal spaces at any point throughout the school year, as the houses are the property of Ross School. (Advance notice will be given, if possible, but cannot be guaranteed in all instances.)
Weekday Expectations
Teaching assistant and/or coverage duties as assigned by the respective Division Head. Teaching assistant responsibilities may include:
Working under the direction of a Lead Teacher
Attending team and domain-specific meetings in relation to the duty assignments
Participating in grade-level integrations in relation to knowledge-specific content areas
Supporting study halls, day-time coverage, and driving responsibilities
Directing and coordinating student activities
Attending Professional Development sessions, and faculty/staff meetings.
Student supervisory responsibilities
Understanding the developmental and emotional needs as well as milestones for the age group
Always ensuring the safety of students; assisting with all students’ needs during the school day.
Identifying and responding to student issues in a timely and productive manner
Be on boarding duty during a set schedule every week. Duty for each house is shared between two assigned House Parents and includes dinner, roll calls, study hour monitoring, and lights out.
Weekend Expectations
House Parents are on a duty rotation on weekends, and duties vary in scope and length, and at times, help chaperone off-campus/out-of-town trips for boarding students.

Ability to correspond in English with parents, students, colleagues, and others.
Ability to work with translators to communicate with parents/guardians of students whose primary language is not English.

Summary
To assist all areas of general maintenance (upper campus, lower campus, and residential properties), primarily focusing on repairs and alterations to ensure that all school and boarding facilities and equipment function properly, remain in peak operating condition, and meet the needs of the Ross School educational mission, activities and program. Duties and responsibilities may be revised as necessary.
Duties and Responsibilities
To assist the Facilities Department with all aspects of building and grounds maintenance to the various buildings owned/operated by Ross School.
Communicates and supports the Upper School, Lower School, and Residential Facilities Managers with projects requiring skills and experience greater than the standard maintenance manager.
Skills needed include general carpentry, drywall and spackling, painting, light plumbing, electrical, heating, ventilation and air-conditioning, and other skills typically possessed by an “Assistant”.
Assist the Facilities Managers in the completion of service requests and other routine duties.
Immediately report damage to the boarding house to the Facilities Manager.
Schedule repairs and maintenance during periods of little or no occupancy to facilitate Ross School’s primary mission as an educational institution.
Develop recommendations and proposals to present to the Director of Facilities for improvements to the facility.
Documents actions taken for all work through the Facilities Management Software.
Other duties may be assigned.
Preferred Skills or Experience
The individual should be able to accept and assume assigned responsibilities and make responsible decisions when required. The individual should have knowledge/experience OR be willing to be trained in all of the following areas:
Plumbing Maintenance – repairing leaks, clearing stopped drain lines, replacing typical household fixtures (toilets, faucets, etc.), installing new pipe, including where appropriate.
Heating/Ventilation/Air Conditioning (HVAC) – provide routine maintenance, including changing belts and filters, cleaning vents and other accessible ductwork, replacing malfunctioning thermostats, and troubleshooting malfunctioning systems.
Drywall/Painting – repair damaged walls/ceilings using sheetrock/spackle, touch up and re-painting of rooms, install drywall in new areas of homes.
Carpentry – repair/replace broken deck boards, trim (both interiors and exteriors), soffits, roof and siding shingles, repair broken or damaged furniture, and assemble furniture kits.
Education and/or Experience
Minimum of 1 year of experience in general building maintenance work, including direct experience in one or more of the trades listed above. An equivalent combination of training and experience may be substituted.

Ability to comprehend, create, and carry out instructions.
Posses valid NYS drivers’ license.
Ability to understand printed signs and written instructions.

Summary
The primary objective of this faculty position is educating and providing daily direction to students by performing the following duties outlined below.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The Substitute Teacher assists in filling in when a FT/PT teacher is out on leave.
The Substitute Teacher ensures that appropriate domain-specific standards and benchmarks are addressed and actively participates in the integration of all domains through regularly scheduled team meetings at the appropriate grade level/s.
The Substitute Teacher is responsible for all aspects of the development, refinement, and implementation of the academic program for the courses he/she teaches, with full documentation in designated digital tools.
In the case of a long-term appointment, substitutes should report to their domain Dean.
The Substitute Teacher follows and implements lessons and projects in a manner consistent with the Ross School mission and philosophy and provides students with frequent age-appropriate and differentiated assignments, ongoing assessment, and timely feedback.
The Substitute Teacher assists in writing progress reports and learning evaluations specific to each student and prepares for and participates in parent-teacher conferences.
This position is expected to keep parents of students he/she teaches informed of student progress, when appropriate, in between formal learning evaluations and conferences and to respond to parent emails and calls in a timely manner.
The Substitute Teacher is expected to write a monthly newsletter to the parents of the students he/she teaches and regularly post these in Blackbaud.
The Substitute Teacher is expected to copy the Head of Middle School or Head of High School, depending on who they are filling in for on all general informational communications to parent(s) about classroom activities and events.
The Substitute Teacher has required duties in the area of Student Life while filling in for positions. This is to be assigned based on the needs of the school. Duties include weekday afternoons and evenings.
